On The Beaded Path Cowl (or Scarf) Pattern

Need:
  • Yellow Knifty Knitter or similar gauge loom
  • 420 pony beads at least, more if you want a longer scarf. 
  • Plastic Needle (for adding the beads)
  • Looming hook
  • Crochet Hook
  • Yarn (weight of #4)
  • A nice cup of coffee....just kidding.
Directions:

Using the needle thread beads onto yarn.

Place stitch markers on pegs 3, 6, and 9 of the loom

Cast On 11 pegs on the Yellow Knifty Knitter

Row 1: Drop a bead in between the pegs as you e-wrap (knit over)

Row 2: Place beads as you do the drop stitch--re-wrapping pegs TWICE before moving on . Now go back to each peg and remove the top two loops.

Row 3: Notice where the stitch markers are, move a loop off of each peg beside it, placing it on the peg with the stitch marker.

Row 4: E-wrap knit, wrapping empty pegs as well. As you are wrapping, go ahead and take all the bottom loops over the top loop on the pegs with stitch markers.

Row 5 AND 6: E-wrap knit

Row 7: Place beads as you do the drop stitch--re-wrapping pegs ONLY ONCE before moving on . Now go back to each peg and remove the top loop.

Row 8: Notice where the stitch markers are, move a loop off of each peg beside it, placing it on the peg with the stitch marker.

Row 9: E-wrap knit, wrapping empty pegs as well. As you are wrapping, go ahead and take all the bottom loops over the top loop on the pegs with stitch markers.

Row 10: E-wrap Knit

REPEAT PROCESS 13 MORE TIMES FOR LENGTH IN PICTURE.
  • Now, E-wrap knit 10 rows.
  • Bring the beginning loops (stitches) up and re-position back on the pegs. 
    • If need be one loop can be used for two pegs. 
  • Knit Over
  • Knit Bind Off
