Using my Simple Holiday Wreath video as a guideline you can create a Memorial/4th Of July wreath by using the following:
- 1 Metal Wreath Ring measuring 14 inch in diameter. I purchased mine at Dollar Tree.
- 2 American Flags. The ones I used measured 10 inches from top to bottom and were purchased at Walmart. They came in a 4 pack for around $2.
- 4 Christmas ornament hooks or you can use thin wire if you have that on hand.
- The following yarn was used:
- Red Heart Super Saver Yarn called Americana. This is a multicolored (red, white and blue) yarn and the each skein was 5 oz (236 yards). I used 1 1/2 skeins so make sure to purchase 2. I bought it online at Walmart.com for $3.84 a piece at time of post.
- Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo called Soft Navy. This is a solid color and the skein was 14 oz (744 yards). I used around half of it. Purchased at Walmart.com for $6.09 at time of post.
To make the wreath, you will need pom pom makers like the ones I use in the video.
Using the Americana yarn, make 24-27 big pom poms.
You will attach them to the wreath by flipping the wreath ring upside down and tying them to it like I did in the video.
Work your way around the wreath until you get the fullest you want.
This is when you flip it back the right way. |
Of course you can choose to try to glue them on (with clear glue or a hot glue gun) however doing it this way will allow you to change out design.
Finally, add a cord, or something similar, to the back to use to hang the wreath.
